Dr. Lucila Paramo

Chairperson

Dr. Paramo was born in Colombia. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology/ Chemistry from the Universidad del Valle, Colombia, a Master’s in Bilingual/Bicultural Studies; a Certificate in Spanish Culture from Complutense University in Madrid and a Doctoral degree in Education Administration from the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico. She is also a Graduate of the Leadership Program and the Hispanic Leadership Development Program from United Way and has a Professional Certificate in Management of Social Impact Projects, PM 4R of the Inter-American Development Bank -IDB.

Dr. Paramo has been a professor of chemistry for 38 years at the Community College of Philadelphia and professor of Articulated Sciences at the University of La Salle and Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. She was an Interim Superintendent for four years and she has organized the International Project for master’s and doctoral degrees in alliance with the Community College of Philadelphia and the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. She is a regional judge for the INTEL International Science Fair and was invited to the group “White House initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics” in 2014.

Dr. Jose E. Ramirez Vilela

Director of Curriculum and Instruction

Dr. Ramirez-Vilela holds a Doctorate of Education degree, is a community leader and  organizer. Over the past two decades, Dr. Ramirez has been involved in a wide variety of Community and adult educational programs in the city of Philadelphia. Dr. Ramirez has worked as an advisor and evaluator of bilingual programs in the city of Philadelphia bilingual schools and, in school programs from Kindergarten to the university level. Dr. Ramirez has served as an adviser to non-profit organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Additionally, Dr. Ramirez evaluates documents related to special education programs in all academic levels.

Dr. Normaris Rodríguez-Hernández

Director of development and Legal Affairs

Dr. Rodriguez-Hernández is both a Doctor in Education and an Attorney who provides legal advice and educational guidance. She is a member of the Puerto Rico State Bar and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She has worked in various facets at an educational, managerial and legal level. She is a professional mediator, who has served as a speaker, directed community development and leadership projects, and worked in legal, educational, and curricular areas as well as with federal proposals.

Dr. Safiya Maouelainin

Director of Educational Technology

Dr. Maouelainin received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Spanish Literature from Johns Hopkins University, her Master of Arts in Hispanic Studies from Villanova University and her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and World Languages from Juniata College. She is a member of EFA (Editorial Freelancers Association), MLA (Modern Languages Association), NeMLA (Northeast Modern Language Association), and AATSP (The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese).

Dr. Wanda Soto

Director of Social Engagement and Grants Management

Dr. Soto educational focus has been in Criminal Sociology in the area of Social Science. Dr. Soto’s research expertise includes mobbing, sexual harassment, violence in employment and school in Latino American countries. Dr. Soto’s professional experience are in the areas of Administration and Supervision where she has helped and supported women who have been sexually harassed both in school and work settings. More recently, Dr. Wanda Soto has been conducting research in the last 14 years to help stop violence in schools including bullying and juvenile delinquency. This motivated her to start and complete a new specialization in Sociology Criminology Area (2015-18). Dr. Wanda currently finds herself involved in new research that is utilized by Leaders of high-risk communities in Puerto Rico. Dr. Wanda Soto is the author of Mobbing o Acoso sicológico, Crónicas Diacrónicas (2006).

Lisette Agosto Cintrón

In her 20+ years as an educator, Lisette has been privileged to work in various K-16 settings.
She began her career in education as a bilingual Kindergarten teacher. Since then she has
worked as a middle school math and science teacher, and a high school math teacher before
stepping into administration as an ELL Coordinator, a Regional Director, a grants administrator,
and as an Assistant Principal. She is currently serving as a Principal in Philadelphia where she
was born and raised and has been a mentor to aspiring school leaders.
Committed to lifelong learning, she also teaches future Early Childhood Teachers at Harcum
College. Lisette has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Drexel University and
has a master’s degree and a doctorate from Holy Family University. Her spare time is dedicated
to ensuring that her students are afforded equitable opportunities, fueling her passion for
education.

Tito Alberto Nuncira​

Electronic and Telecommunications Engineer

(Mr. )Nuncira is an Electronic and Telecommunications Engineer, Specialist in Communications Networks, Master in Project Management and Planning from the Ibero-American University of Puerto Rico, is currently a Research Professor at the ECCI University, a professor at the Gymnasium Modelia Real Institute, an advisory engineer at the Ministry of Technology In colombia.

He has been a teacher for 12 years in the area of ​​telematics in different Universities such as the Francisco José de Caldas District University and the Cooperative University of Colombia and leader of the Innovation Laboratory of the Central Military Hospital and is a Project Manager at the DOMYNET Company.
Director of the IEEE aerospace research hotbed of the ECCI University.

His research projects have a social impact approach, which has given him several national and international awards for his work, especially with the deaf community. His most recent achievement was having obtained first place worldwide in the Human Exploration Rover Challenge academic event, awarded by NASA on August 21, 2020.
For the best design and construction of the drive train of a Lunar Rover and the best STEM project worldwide.
His works have been presented at different international events in Tokyo, Milan, Paris, the United States (Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle among others), Guatemala, Chile, Ecuador, Argentina.
Among his current research projects are the design and construction of a monitoring handle for patients with covid 19, construction of a medicine dispensing robot, design of an electrostimulation device for the tibial nerve, design and construction of an astromobile for the mission NASA Artemis and development of educational tools for people with hearing disabilities.

Jesus Escobar

Director of Strategy and Operations

Jesus Escobar received his Master’s of Science in Analytics and his Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on Analytics and Information Systems from Hofstra University. He also received a Master’s in Leadership from Duquesne University. He is currently working on his Master’s in Applied Data Science at Syracuse University. Jesus Escobar is a certified project manager (PMP). Jesus focuses on the current trend of technology and how technology, data science, and analytics can be applied with other methods such as Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, and Agile to help improve business and society as a whole.

Sally Aguirre

International coordinator in Colombia

Sally Aguirre has a degree in Business Administration from the Free University in Colombia. In addition, she has taken courses in international business at the University of Havana Cuba, as well as courses in finance, technology and leadership. Sally’s main experience is in the financial sector as she is the National Director of Treasury Operations Services and for more than seven years she has stood out as the coordinator for both national operations and treasury back office at BANCOMEVA.
